Twilight Cast Member & Band in Concert, November 7. One of the stars of the hit movie Twilight—and the soon-to-be-released New Moon—will play the Wildhorse Saloon with his band, 100 Monkeys, as they participate in the NewCon Festival, happening in Nashville, Tennessee. Jackson Rathbone and friends from Michigan’s Interlochen Arts Academy comprise 100 Monkeys, headliners of this festival, which aims to inspire more people to get involved with the arts. KVB-TNA Wrestling, November 9. The largest dance floor in town will soon be transformed into a wrestling ring, as members of the National Football League (NFL), led by All-Pro defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch, take on superstars from Total Nonstop Action (TNA) wrestling. The Wildhorse Saloon will play host to the second annual KVB-TNA event, a fundraising effort to build a KVB Media Center at the Preston Taylor Boys & Girls Club of Nashville. KVB Media Centers give area children and teenagers the chance to develop skills for careers in mass communications. The throw-down happens Monday, November 9. Soul Asylum in Concert with Special Guests One Lone Car, sponsored by Yuengling, October 1. American alternative rock band Soul Asylum has scheduled an upcoming stop at the world-famous Wildhorse Saloon. The band, currently on tour to promote their The Silver Lining album, their first studio release since 1998, is known for hits like “Runaway Train,” “Misery” and “Somebody to Love.” The show on Thursday, October 1, begins at 7 p.m., with special guests One Lone Car, an up-and-coming rock band, and is sponsored by Yuengling. Bluegrass for a Cause, August 4. Multiple award-winning and internationally known bluegrass superstar Alison Kraus and Union Station are teaming up with fellow bluegrass artists Jerry Douglas, Cherryholmes, Cadillac Sky and more to benefit the Chris Fontaine Family. Fontaine is a Nashville-area husband and father who is battling a rare bone and soft tissue cancer. Because of a pre-existing condition, this Williams Fine Violins’ luthier was not able to receive medical coverage, but due to his loyalty and hard work for some of Music City’s finest artists, this Tuesday, August 4, 2009 concert is being held to raise money for his medical costs. Kraus has released 11 albums in her more-than-20-year recording career, including hit songs like “When You Say Nothing At All,” “Whiskey Lullaby,” “Stay” and major contributions to the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack. Doors to this event open at 5:30 p.m., and the show begins at 6 p.m. Reserved seating and general admission tickets are $25 and VIP tickets are $50. World-Famous Wildhorse Saloon House Band Search Contest
Nashville, Tennessee—(July 2, 2009) Downtown Nashville, Tennessee’s number-one dining, dancing and entertainment destination is now home to a brand-new house band. In an intense and exciting competition last night in front of a standing-room-only crowd at the Wildhorse Saloon, The J.C. Andersen Band was named as the new house band after competing against six other bands in the World-Famous Wildhorse Saloon House Band Search Contest. The band has won the coveted top entertainment spot at the legendary venue, and their winnings include opening for a major national act during an upcoming concert night, a showcase in front of record label executives and the opportunity to play in front of a live, energized crowd every night. |

Concert Review: Starship W Bobby Kimball & Special Guest |
Starship touched down in Nashville tonight with captain Mickey Thomas and co-captains Bobby Kimball (of Toto fame) and Tommy Tutone on deck. As they proceeded to commandeer the stage at the Wildhorse they beamed us back in time to the 80s with a nice list of
memorable hits. The result was a fun-filled and mostly rocking trip down memory lane.
