Marine Week is almost here! From September 7 to 11, everyone in Nashville has a backstage pass to meet hundreds of Marines at more than 80 free, open-to-the-public and family-friendly events taking place all over our city.
Opening Celebration on Wednesday, September 7, at Public Square Park at 6PM. You’ll be treated to a special performance by Darryl Worley and the Marine Band San Diego, as well as see firsthand the Marine Corps’ Silent Drill Platoon in action.
The Marine Band San Diego will present Sound Strike on Sept 8 from 9:30 to 10:30.
Other Marine Week highlights include a Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) demonstration at Riverfront Park, a parade down lower Broadway, and a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at War Memorial Plaza. Check out the full schedule and plan out your week.
Please note: Downtown Nashville should expect increased noise and vibrations on Thursday, 12 to 3PM (rehearsal), Friday, 1:15 to 1:45PM, and Sunday, 10:15 to 10:45AM, due to MAGTF demonstrations. These include the use of low-flying aircraft, pyrotechnics, amphibious assault vehicles, military vehicles, and Marine infantry.
